Who I am
Tideline Studio is a website design business run by me, Finn Simpson, a sole trader on the Gold Coast, Queensland (ABN 18 271 713 579). In this policy "I", "me" and "Tideline Studio" all mean the same thing. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles in how I handle your information.

What I collect
I only collect what you choose to give me, in one of these ways:
- Facebook and Instagram forms. When you fill in a form on one of my ads: your name and phone number (Facebook may fill these in from your profile, and you can change them), your business name, whether you have a website, and when suits you for a call.
- The contact form on this website. Your name, email address, business name, industry and your message.
- Booking a call. The name, email address and time you enter when you book through the calendar on this site, and any notes you add.
- Messages, emails and calls. Whatever you send me directly.
To get ready for a call I may also look at information that is already public about your business, such as your website, Google listing, Facebook page or Instagram.
This website uses Fathom Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without collecting anything that identifies you.
How I use it
- To contact you about your enquiry, by the phone number or email you gave, and to prepare for and hold that conversation.
- To quote for, build and look after your website if we work together.
- To keep a record of our conversations, so I know where things are up to.
I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you've asked for it.
Where it's kept, and who else sees it
Your information is kept in the tools I use to run the business, and only I use them:
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which holds the forms you submit on my ads.
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives the contact form.
- Cal.com, which runs the call booking calendar.
- My email provider, for emails between us.
- My own customer records, a private system hosted by Supabase in Sydney.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, for example in the United States. I only use established providers who have their own privacy and security commitments. I won't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long I keep it
If we work together, I keep your details for as long as I'm looking after your website, and business records for as long as tax law requires. If we don't, I delete your enquiry within two years. You can ask me to delete it sooner at any time.
Seeing, changing or deleting your information
You can ask to see what I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email finn@tidelinestudio.com.au and I'll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. There is no charge.
Keeping it safe
I keep the accounts that hold your information secure, and I don't keep extra copies outside the tools listed above.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
